Story time!

Sorry I have updated lately. I have been busy with getting ready for finals, cleaning so the land lord can show our house, and dealing with computer problems. I thought that I would tell you guys a story about how I had spent my Saturday. It was a rather interesting day.....

                                                     My mis-adventures - A Saturday class
So last Saturday I had decided to go to a theater class for our school with some of the other kids I knew from theater. One of our "games" was an improv game. One person sat on the bench and was neutral and another person comes up and they make up a scene. So Jacob was sitting on the bench and it was my turn to go up. I paused because I didn't have any thing to start with, then I suddenly I had it. I run up to him yelling "HAVE YOU SEEN THEM?!?!?!?! HAVE YOU SEEN THEM?!?!?!" at that point I have completely freaked him out. My thing was that I had miss placed my glasses(Even though they were on my face), which is totally normal for me. So I point out a hundred places they could have been. Then he asks "Are they a Person or a Thing?'" this caught me off guard. So I said "Yes, No, I think so?" I really didn't know how to respond, eventually Jacob told me to sit on the bench calmly and wait. Now it was My turn to be the bench person, So Dalton comes up and just about flips the bench with me on it. He was looking for some special kind of gum. Eventually it got to the point where he started to accuse me. I told him I had to go and ran off stage.

That was my Saturday in a nutshell, well except all the frost your own cookies I ate, I think I had about 5 but not sure. Well hope you guys enjoyed my mis-adventure! I also hope you guys enjoyed my Podcast "review". I really enjoyed them, then again they are about some thing I love to read and watch. Well I need to get a science project done, or mostly done. PODCASTS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

This is probably the last thing you guys want to be reading about, trust me it was the last thing I wanted to do. It took days to find the right podcast but eventually I found one! Sticking to the "theme" of books I found the perfect one for me... The Baker Street Babes! I know what a weird title but they are actually really cool and they talk about one of my favorite characters........ SHERLOCK HOLMES! Who I hadn't gotten into until 8th going on 9th grade. Now you could say I am a bit obsessed but not to the point of insanity. Well on to my english assignment. (for your amusement more than mine.)

The goal of the Baker Street Babes is to ( for lack of a better term) explain things about our dear friends Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. They go from books to movies to even music! They also tell cool fun facts about some of the t.v shows and movies that have come out over the years. The Baker Street  Babes also have told as about some copy right problems.

The intended audience is mainly the fans of Sherlock Holmes. I believe that it is more for the older fans. (I mean the ones over 13 give or take a few years.) It is also possibly for any fan from any country. The reason I said that part is because The Baker Street Babes are all different nationality's. (Well at least from what I can tell from their voices) There is no argument need when I said that it is for the fans of Sherlock Holmes. The reason I say that it is for people 13 and up is because what ten year old would understand half of what the Baker Street Babes talk about? They use huge words, some slang, and once in an extreme while they swear but it is nothing major.

IF I had the chance to be on this podcast, WELL it would be a total geek fest. Seeing as I know quite a bit already. The fact that I have only heard the first 7 Podcasts out of the 50 podcasts they have it is really hard to say what I would say. I know that they would start with their usual questions. "I first got in to Sherlock when I was about 12 or 13. I had always know Sherlock Holmes was there but never got interested until the first Guy Ritchie film about Sherlock Holmes. ( The one with Robert Downey Jr.) After that it became you could say a need to have Sherlock. My favorite character.... That is a tough one because I kind of can choose one. I like Sherlock but that is to be expected because he is the main character. I like Watson too, and I can't have one without the other! I also like Irene Adler because she is the one women that can one up Sherlock. I also think that some of the stories and things couldn't have survived long with out Moriarty! SO picking just one would be liking picking your favorite child! I don't really have a favorite book/short story because I haven't read very many of them. If I had to pick one now It would have to Hound of the Baskerville. My favorite adaptation would be a tie between the Guy Ritchie films and the BBC version."

I hope you guys have enjoyed this the link to the page with the podcasts is down below. I listened to them on Itunes, all I typed in was Podcasts about Sherlock Holmes. It took some searching but you'll find it. They also have a blog! I haven't found it yet but when I do I will try to get a link to it. I must get going, Talk To You All Later! -Kaitlynn

Falling Kingdoms

Guys I am so sorry this is out later than I wanted it to be. I have been busy with our play, home work, and other work. I hope you guys enjoyed my first writing sample. I know that many people did, and I would love to hear your opinion on it! I also hope you guys enjoy my review. Now that our school play is over I am going to have a lot more time on my hands. I am going to miss it but all good things come to any end some times.I kind of hope that the next place I am going is going to have so many good people as I have meet here. Well before you all think I have been slaking off on my read, we should get on to the review.

                                       Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

Our story opens in the Kingdoms of Auranos, Paelisa, and Limeros. Also with our main characters Cleo, Jonas, Lucia, and Magnus. Cleo is the youngest Auranos princess who is a bit reckless and is now engaged to Lord Aron. Jonas is an Limeros revolutionary, who has problems with royalty. Lucia is the daughter of the king of Limeros, She has a deadly secret that may or may not change the tides of war. Magnus is the son of the king of Limeros, At first he wouldn't harm a fly but as things go wrong he deadlier. As the kingdoms go through their own problems, the main characters try to fix what was wrong. Danger, love, and mystery hang around every corner you must be careful in a world on the brink of war.

I rate this a 4/5 stars. I thought it was really good, I didn't like how it ended because now I have to wait for the next book! I also thought that some parts could have been left out because they were rather boring and not necessary. Other than that I thought it was pretty good.

Well I hope you guys enjoyed my review. I hope to have a couple more next month. I am looking for good Podcasts for my next english project.  You guys wouldn't happen to know any really good ones? I would prefer ones that talk about books but just about any would do. Well I need to get going. Talk To You All Later!- Kaitlynn
