Movies

Movie theaters are really  expensive, so I have put together a small list of movies (plus a few T.V. shows) that I just can't wait to have come out on DVD so I can rent, buy, or borrow them.

      1. Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, I have waited so long for this. When I first read the book all I could do was plan out how the movie would go. Even if it meant I would spend three to four hours in the theater watching it. I really just hope that they threw in one of my most favorite parts. Who needs to be driven to the dark forces by my mom?

      2. Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. I didn't really know this was coming out until my cousin said some thing about it. I loved the series and the first movie kind of ruined the movie series. 1. you forgot Clarisse 2. You screwed the whole story line up. I really hope the keep it mostly in line with the book.

              3. Sherlock season 3. Yes this is a T.V. show, No I don't need to go to the movies for it. I just feel like it should be on the list. I have been waiting for round about a year. I really just want to see more Benedict Cumberbatch, Star trek: Into Darkness just wasn't enough for me. Even though he did a really good job. I really just hope that A. it is on at a decent time or B. I don't have to wait a year for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it.

           4. Doctor Who season 2. OK I know this has been out for a while and that it is also a T.V. show. But I have been looking every where for a better alternative then renting it 4 episodes a time from Netflix. I also really badly need to know what is going to happen next! (More to understand what my friends say when they talk about it and sit there very confused.)

For now this is going to have to be my list because my computer start spazzing out and started to make this longer than it needed to be. So before my computer crashes I should get going. Talk To You All Later! -Kaitlynn

More Laurie R. King!?!?!?!?!

Hey guys! I am finally doing a review! It has been what... 2, 3, 4 months? Which I apologize for greatly. But I am back and with a long list of books to review! But to start I will go in as much as an order as I can. Which means I will be reviewing TWO Laurie R. King books. If you remember my post on the Beekeepers Apprentice these are the second and third books. The catch is that what I read as the second book is really just what happened in the middle of the first book. I was lead to this decision by amazon and a super helpful post on what order the books should go in and not what order they were released in. Before you all start yelling at me to finally do a review, I guess I should finally do some of my reviews.

O Jerusalem by Laurie R. King
Our story opens (after tons of translation pages for words you run into later, and three different prologues in my copy of the book.) with Sherlock Holmes and Mary Russell "sneaking" into Palestine. While in Palestine they go sight seeing, crime solving, and you learn lots of (for me useless) information on the culture at that time. ( think that I counted at lest 3 pages at the least about tea when I counted up all the paragraphs. Almost more with coffee!) eventually there is a murder, they meet the bad guy, and every thing goes down in the last.. twenty pages?!?!?!?!?!

I rate this a 3/5 stars. OK the idea was there and effort was put into it. I can't say I hated it but I can't say I love it either. For me It was the three pages worth of tea explanations and coffee explanations. I don't need to know about the longest way to make tea, it may taste good but it is painful to try and read through. I also was a bit annoyed that the author waited till the last couple pages to bring in anything worth while action. For me this book was a waste of two weeks. It took me that long because I couldn't find the interest and because I couldn't find a map to match the book until I asked my grandma. Hint, maps really help because they bounce around ALOT.

A Monstrous Regiment of Women by Laurie R. King
Our story begins with our main character Mary Russell writing a huge, very important, (and not to ruin the book, but never finished) paper. This whole book is set around a (you could say) "religious" group that her friend Veronica has gotten into. Margery Childe runs the New Temple of God and takes in Russell. Eventually people who are very important start dying and Mary's friend is the next target. And can Mary solve the mystery in time or will she become a target too?

I rate this book a 4/5 stars. I thought it was written well and it was fairly entertaining. The reason it isn't a 5/5 is because I thought it could have gone a bit faster and had a bit more action. Other than that it was a good book and I would love to read the next book... IF ONLY SOME ONE WOULD FINALLY RETURN IT TO THE LIBRARY! Ya.... having problems with people and not returning things I want to read.

So guys I hope you enjoyed this. Spent four days writing this because of poor time management. I also have been really caught up in home work. (I should be doing my French but shhhhhhhhhhhh........ this was way better than that any way.) I must get going so I can finish my homework. I hope you guys enjoyed these reviews and I hope to be able to post more often but well that will be left up to fate.... and my teachers. Guess Who's Back!

Hey guys! I'm back, sorry for keeping you all waiting. I have been really busy moving into my house, arguing with the Internet, getting crud tons of homework, and recently sick. I have been reading, which leads me to my problem. I have read so much it will take me months to catch up. But that is good news for you guys because that means more posts! That is until I catch up, which may be never. I am going to be super busy because where I live now gives me the opportunity to see national monuments and museums, and a bunch of things that most people would find boring. I hope to be able to balance every thing but knowing me something isn't going to work out. So if you don't hear from me again for a while I am sorry I would like to keep my grades up and I also have to do a ton of volunteer work so I can get out of here faster. I plan on tutoring kids, I bet you can't guess what I will be tutoring. Math you say, No I suck at math. Science, nope not to good at that either. Reading? Yep there it is. I hope to get a job tutoring kids at local elementary school or middle school. (That is whenever they email me back! I have been waiting forever! OK it has only been 3 or 4 days but that still is a long time to be waiting!) I think that it will be the perfect volunteer job for me because I love to read and every one tells me I would be a good teacher. (minus my mom, she wanted me to be an accountant... but I suck at math.) I have also been introduced to a new band. But that is an entirely new post all it's self. I also have finally bought the Mortal Instruments soundtrack, (which I am listening to right now.) even though I haven't seen the movie. Which sucks but the movie theaters around here are really expensive and I just didn't have the money at the time to spend on the theater. I also lost my movie buddies so going and watching it with out them would have been a bit weird. But I just know which movie is going strait to the top of my Netflix list when I start it up again. I hope to get through the second season of Doctor Who also. I started it at my new friends house and now when I get Netflix, I am going to have to watch it 4 episodes painstakingly at a time. Which means I will spend years trying to catch all 7 (or wait 8?) seasons. I know what you are saying, just go to your friends house, even though my friend would be delighted to have me over, we both have lives to live, homework to do, family to visit, and volunteering work we have to do. Well this has started to get longer than I wanted and I wanted to get in at least a review or two before I have to completely have to go so for now... Talk To You All Later! -Kaitlynn
P.S. For any old friends reading this... I miss you all and wish you could be here or I could just move back. (it sucks here!)
