Happy Easter!

   Happy Easter! (or just another day...) Hope you all had a good day, I know it has been for me. I got my book (Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare), I got Les Miserables, and my dad let me take his car out for a spin. I would love to say I have some fun mis-adventure for you but truth be told, I really don't have any at the moment. Actually that was a small lie, I have one. While I was bike riding on Friday I was reminded of it....

                                       My Mis-adventure (Story 2)

      So about two weeks before I was supposed to move, me and my best friend went for our routine bike ride. We had done it for years ( have have rather come to miss them) and this was our last one. We stated out like normal, chatting, trying to race each other. The only thing that was different was the fact that there was still snow on the side walks. We mostly avoided it, but on our way back we hit a patch of ice and both of us went flying off our bikes. My hip was bruised for a week after that. I will never know my friend was hurt, if they were they did a good job to hide it.

    I never told any one that story, not even my own parents! Well it wasn't a promise to keep it a secret, I guess it was the fact that it would be the last time we saw each other that made it some what... Sacred. I kind of wish I was still that person, but if I was I wouldn't have this blog, I wouldn't have joined the club and activities I have, and I wouldn't have the friends I have. I guess that when one good thing falls apart  another falls together. I hope that if my old friend does read this they remember and get a good laugh out of some old memories, like me. Have You.........

   I know I still haven't found the songs I promised but I am getting there. I just want to know a couple of things that I was hoping some of you guys might know. Is Gaslight Dogs by Karin Lowachee a good book? I can't find it in our library system and I checked Barnes & Noble and they didn't have it. So I am kind of hoping one of you guys have read it and could tell me if it is good. I seems that the only way I can get it is if I buy it and I don't want to buy it and hate it. Also my sister is looking for some really good ( shall I say) horror stories. Do you guys have any suggestions on what ones she should read because I don't read those types of books normally so I really can't help her. I told her to try Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. I found it really good but she wasn't interested in it. Also do you guys have any good sci-fi or fantasy books I could read? I only need the titles, but hardly any of the books I am trying to read right now are holding my attention. I just need some really interesting book that I won't be able to put down unless some thing life threatening happens. If you guys could help me out with this it would be gladly appreciated. ( I should have the settings to where any one, even if you don't have an account can comment.) Also I would love to hear about some new music.  May have found one or two songs that are really good, I will also try to find them and post them.

    We have doubled the amount of views we had last month! Right now the counter for this month stands at 141! Thanks for the views, I truly appreciate it! I also free truly inspired to keep posting about the books I read. If you guys didn't read my English assignment/test, I love to keep posting on my blog. I hope that out there some where out there I have inspired some one to read. Reading I believe is a magical thing. It allows ones self to be transported years away, to new worlds, past lives, and live in a world that could possibly never exist in reality. It allows us to escape reality and its troubles and be in a world where the only cares are if the character you love is going to make it out alive or if the good guys will win or how many pages until the end. Books allow people who like me don't have many friends to make friends with the characters in the books or with the people who just love to read them. Books are like music, they both take you to places that only happen in your wildest dreams! But when both come together in perfect harmony, there is no explanation for it. So ever time I post about a book I hope that some one out there is touched and will pick up a book and find how good it is. Even if the book is not for you there is always something out there! Don't just give up and say reading isn't for me. People who say that miss out on all the joys of reading. My english teacher told me the other day " Adults read about one to two books a month."  some times I think that is the same for almost every one.

   Sorry about the long thing, I get really worked up about reading. I just don't get how some one could hate it. Well I really need to get going, I hope you can answer my questions and enjoyed my thing on books. Off to go get some thing to eat! Talk To You All Later! -Kaitlynn

City of a Thousand Dolls

   Hey guys! I finished my first book from the library. I also still don't have Clockwork princess. I saw it at our school library and almost grabbed it. But I showed restraint and didn't pick it up. I promised I wouldn't get it in any form until after Easter. Sorry I haven't been able to find any good time to find songs from my new CD but I promise that I will get to them as soon as I can. Before I bore you... On to my review!

                  City of a Thousand Dolls by Miriam Forster

   Our story starts out with Nisha an orphan girl who was left outside the gates of the city of a thousand dolls. The city is a place for girls who have been abandoned by their parents. Most girls live in places called houses. Each has their own purpose, from combat to beauty there is some thing for every one. Noble men can "claim" a girl and have her trained to be exactly what he wants. If no one claims a girl at 18 she has to leave the city and try to find her own life. Nisha doesn't  have one house like most of the other girls. She works and lives in the house of the Matron. Most of her friends are the spotted cats that live in the city. Her other friends are Tanaya and Sashi. Tanaya live in the house of flowers and Sashi lives in the house of jade. Not long after meeting up with Tanaya, Nisha finds the body of a dead girl in the street. To save her life from being a slave she decides to find out who has been murdering the girls in the city. Mystery, adventure, and secret love are in store for this intriguing read.

  I rate this book a 5/5 stars. The only problem I had was that I couldn't keep the names strait. Other than that I couldn't put it down for over 2 days. I suggest you guys read it, the book is really good and I hope that the author writes more.

  This is out later than it should have been. Sorry, I have just been so busy. Mostly with trying to get paint of my hands and arms. Other than that, I think I am going to return the Candy Shop Wars book. I just can't get into it, I hope you guys weren't waiting for the review for that one. I bet it was really good, but I can't find any books right now that hold my attention. Maybe this weekend I will find something but for now don't expect a review for a bit. My other library book should be in soon, I still don't remember the title. So I guess it will be a surprise for every one! Well I should get going, I have tons of homework and paint to take care of.
