Snow!!!!!

          Hey Guys! I should be finishing up the last 100 or so pages of Crime and Punishment but I thought I'd put off my procrastination to come here and do a review (which could be considered an extension of my procrastination)! Worst part is I've wasted most of my spring break putting it off. Then again I don't think working can be considered part of putting something off but whatever I'm just rambling now....

                                    Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
               After sixteen years of being on the run from another kingdom. The seven remaining refugees of winter are no closer to getting their home back. The first step is to get the locket, it's nearly impossible when its been split in two. Not as impossible as it might seem for Meira. As Meira and the other refugees get closer to freeing the kingdom of Winter,  Meira starts to realize things might not be as they originally seemed. Will she be able to sort it all out in time to get the locket and save the kingdom of Winter?

        Ok, I'm going to admit there is no rating system to even express how much I loved this book. Sure the love triangle thing was a bit out there and could have been left out, But it was an epic book none the less. Some of the characters where addicting, I had to know more about them. And some of the "plot twists" were pretty good. I don't know if I would want a sequel to this, sure the ending meant there was probably going to be one (in this day and age what book doesn't have a sequel). But There would have to be some pretty big "earth shattering" event to have it be good and top the first book.

         I'm so glad this ran across my Goodreads page, I had forgotten that I read it earlier in the school year. That's the nice part about having a Goodreads page, you can rediscover all those books that you haven't read in forever but know that you did at some point. The lucky downside is that your To-Read List gets longer the more you hang out on there. I'm so lucky to have it not be able to load on my I-pod or else I'd have literally the entire public library on there! I can't wait to be done with required reading for school, then I can check out the whole library and enjoy reading again! Well I've got to go waste the rest of my day and spring break, Talk To You All Later! -Kaitlynn

The End....

      Hey Guys! I've decided to take a break from Crime and Punishment. It's good, but it's very detail oriented. Plus I've been rush reading it for school, not because I want to but because I have to. I usually have one day to read over 100 detail oriented pages with annotations. (Well I have to annotate.... makes me wish I had a copy that was already annotated copy.) I wish I could read this with out having to rush through it. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Whatever, I'll just have to reread it later. For  now, let's get on with the end of the world reviews.... (There will be spoilers, I'm going to try to keep them to a bare minimum but it's almost impossible given the fact that these are the last in their series')

                                  City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
              In the final book of the Mortal Instruments series, join Clary, Jace, and all their friends (and family...) in the fight against their greatest adversary... Sebastian Morgenstern. Things start get more dangerous as shadowhunters withdraw from their institutes and go to Idris. A shocking twist causes Clary and her friends to go on the run. Will they be able to fight Sebastian and his army of Endarkened? Or will they all parish trying?

        I rated this a 5/5 stars. The only problem I had was the ending. I loved the characters to much for the series to end, even though I knew deep down in side it had to at some point. As someone really smart/important said one day "All good things come to an end." I also think what happened to one of the characters (Some of you might know who I'm talking about but I'm trying not to ruin the book.) was unfair. He was sooooooo sweet and was just trying to save his friends. He didn't deserve to have his memory wiped!

                                         Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
              Follow the Seven, Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge on what could be their final adventure. Even thought the Seven have made progress on their way to stopping Gaea and Feast of Spes, they seem to feel like they are getting nowhere close to stopping her. Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge are having the same feelings as they race to get back to Camp Half-Blood in a desperate attempt to stop a growing war between the Greeks and the Romans. Will both groups be able to stop the impending doom they face or will they fail at their quests? 

     I rated this a 5/5 stars. Alright I will admit that I didn't enjoy this one as much as the last couple books in the series. It may have been just the fact that most of the book was the characters going over what they expect their impending death to be like. I didn't think there was enough Annabeth, I shouldn't be complaining because of how much she was in the previous book but I just didn't see enough of my favorite character.  Though the development of other characters was (I guess...) enough to make up for the fact she wasn't as prevalent.

      I'm going to admit that it was easier to review Blood of Olympus then it was to review City of Heavenly Fire. It may have been the fact that it was more generalized where the plot area was concerned. But I don't know which series I was more upset about ending. I think because I knew both authors were starting another series, I was somewhat ok with them ending. Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare are some of my favorite authors. And it is going to be a sad day when they no longer write books. Ok, I have to tell my self to convince my self to stop procrastinating and go read Crime and Punishment now. Time Travel Review!!!!!!

       Hey Guys! In addition to being extremely distracted.... I've started a Goodreads page! It's sooooooooooo addicting, I spend at least on hour going through their recommendations for me. The hope is that by having the goodreads page it will help me remember to get back here to review stuff. (Cause I haven't been doing a good job about reminding my self.) So far (other than the suggestions) its told me that I've read 10,345 pages this year. I'm really liking this site! But that's not why I got on here! I got on here to review some books, and obviously that what I'm going to do.

                       The Feast of the Drowned by Stephen Cole
           Follow Rose, The Doctor, and the TARDIS through an another through time and space. This time their adventure takes them to London shortly after a major ship sinks in the North Sea. Rose learns about the sunken ship shortly after visiting her friend and learning that her brother had been on the ship. Not too long after the dead from the ship coming back begging to be saved from a feast. Can Rose and The Doctor get to the bottom of this before it's too late?

       I loved this book, the only sad part is I can't remember everything I loved about it. It's been a while since I've read it.... well more like about a year. The one line I do (sorta) remember had something funny to do with goldfish. I believe at the time I thought it followed the series (Doctor Who) pretty well.

                     The Price of Paradise by Colin Brake
        Laylora is a paradise planet (It's exactly what a paradise planet would be). Everything is balanced... Well until an explorer and her crew land. Things start to get off balanced and the inhabitants of the planet start to disappear. The Doctor and Rose are rushing to save Laylora. Will they be able to or will they be too late?

      Again, I loved the book but it's been sooooooo long since I've read it. I, yet again, remember thinking it was pretty close to the show but other than that I don't really remember much about it.

      Ok I'm now realizing that the title is a bit misleading.... I guess the books kind of fit into the "genre" but  coming up with titles is hard! So it's ok that it's horrible and doesn't match, mostly cause it could be worst. But I digress... So I've started a google doc with the list of books that have either been reviewed or are to be reviewed. I'm going to link it down below, along with my goodreads page link thing. (I'll have to figure out how that works. I'm not sure if you could view my page without having an account. But I'll have to mess with it and see.) On a side note, I've read the entirety of Homestuck. Well up till the most recent up date, just have to wait till April 14th to have everything ripped apart again. (Major disclaimer thingy here) Don't read Homestuck if you value your life, may it be emotional or just the entirety of your free time. Alright, I've got to get on my way.
